New Year, New Preparations

The new year almost started without me! Yes, I know it comes the same time every year but, this year, I wasn’t prepared. Party invitations went out late, the supermarket was sold out of jumbo shrimp, and I was shopping for champagne at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. But one thing I am prepared for is my financial future. And you should be, too. Just like Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, retirement is coming, whether we’re prepared or not.

This year, resolve to get invested. Resolve to put money aside consistently each month in a retirement plan (enrolling in automatic payroll deductions is the easiest way), and learn as much as you can about stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, and how they work. And then let those investments do the work so that, someday, you won’t have to!
One way to get started is through these books which dive into the very basics, providing a solid foundation of knowledge. Then, resolve that this is the year to put what you've learned into action.
Wishing you good health and prosperity in 2026!
